How Does the Course Work?
Multiple camera angles allow you to see the patterns in a natural way without having to flip the image in your head.
These high quality recordings are created for clarity with no distractions. Professional sound and video makes it easier for you to pick up the rhythm patterns.
Each balafon key is labelled.
Written transcriptions help you visualize the main patterns.
These balafons have been carefully tuned and each note is indicated. No hard-to-follow symbol systems to label the keys! There are separate video lessons for two main tunings of pentatonic balafon available: D Pentatonic (DFGAC) and C Pentatonic (CDEGA).
The Bass Drums (Sangban, Kenkeni & Dununba) provide a melodic bass line.
In the Lamogoya Rhythm the bass drum pattern changes as the rhythm develops. The bass drums are in a kind of conversational dialogue with the balafons and djembe. There is a slower intro part, then the main rhythm, and a final fast section.
If you would like a challenge, this course has solo lessons for balafon and djembe.
Each solo phrases is isolated so that you can understand all the notes and catch the all important "feeling" or groove that make the solos sounds so sweet. This exclusive content is not found anywhere else, and will take your playing to a whole new level.
